Pre-Med through college then went on to apply to work as Medical Assistant in an effort to gather prerequisite hours for PA school before learning about the medical device industry.
Why were you interested in pursuing medical sales as a career?
I wanted to stay within healthcare but was looking to touch more lives and have a greater impact. The potential for growth is much larger as a medical sales rep so that made the decision much easier.
How did you learn about Medical Sales College?
Referred by a graduate.
What ultimately made you decide to attend?
I had heard of other grads having success with the program.
Please describe your training experience at Medical Sales College.
It was good, thorough.
Describe your experience with Dynamic Consultative Sales training.
This was the most useful part of the program for me having not had previous sales experience.
How did the training at MSC add to your existing clinical knowledge?
Some. I have a clinical back ground so lots of the medical imaging and anatomy/phisiology portions were reviews for me. Product knowledge was a huge part and very important I would say!
How did the training at MSC help develop your sales skillset to successfully enter this industry?
It definitely helped me build a foundation and figure out what direction I wanted to go in.
What is the most valuable piece of information that you learned while attending MSC which ultimately helped you land your position?
The mentality of the industry and knowing how to come across as part of them even when you are not yet a part.
Why should someone attend Medical Sales College?
If they want to learn about the industry and do not have their own network within the industry yet.
How long did you try to get into the industry before attending MSC? What was that experience like?
A couple months.
Please briefly explain your job interview process with your hiring company.
Consisted of 7 interviews. There was an initial phone interview with a recruiter. A second interview with the hiring manager. Then the Gallup. Then I had to do an hour long product presentation. Following the product presentation I spoke with a member of the team where I was able to mostly ask my own questions about the job. Then I had two final interviews, one with HR and a second with My boss' boss.
